Renovation of the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium. The New East Building
Abstract
The new East Building rises in the new plaza on Padre Damián Street, occupying part of the space from the latest expansion in 2005. Its complex structure addresses a wide range of functions: supporting two new stands, providing support for a fixed roof and facade envelope, and containing vertical communication flows with large cantilevered staircases. It is crowned by a three-dimensional lattice structure at the top, which not only encloses the pedestrian pathway surrounding the Stadium but also houses office and leisure spaces.
