Replacement of the cymatia on the column capitals in the Boxwood Courtyard, Visual Arts Museum of Seville

Abstract

The article discusses the replacement of stone members located over the columns in a seventeenth century arcade. The materials and geometry are described and the damage detected and its causes are analysed. Replacement material selection, structural analysis, bracing device design and modus operandi are explained.
