Semi-prefabricated prestressed mixed slab
Abstract
This article describes a structural system formed by a mixed semi-prefabricated slab, which has been used for the first time in Spain for the construction of the University of Lleida. The system is made up of a prestressed prefabricated mixed steel skeleton. This element is transported into site, supporting prestressed concrete pre-slabs which allow avoiding false framework and reducing ?in situ? work such as adding positive bars. Using this systems 12 x 7m up to 12 x 12m modules have been constructed with a maximum 30 cm concrete thickness. This article describes the system along with a destructive test carried on to characterize the response of a linear element. The test was instantaneous and maintaining the load for three days. The experimental results are compared to simple analytical predictions.
