New bridge over river Tormes in Salamanca

Abstract

A new bridge over river Tormes in Salamanca is described. It shows the wide range of possibilities offered by the employment of internal and external prestressing simultaneously. Most of the elements in the structure are described, and also the most important aspects of building procedure, specially those from which relevant conclusions for design can be obtained.
