Enlargement of arch bridges

Abstract

This article describes three different enlargements of short span arch bridges . In three bridges, the prefabrication of the elements of the deck has permited a quick and economical construction; avoiding in any case, the use of arch falsework which are always expensive. Moreover, under aesthetical point of view, the use of prefabricated elements has been made compatible with the shape of the existent deck in order to mantain the external appeareance.
