The influence of pearlite colony orientation on stress corrosion cracking of eutectoid steels
Abstract
This paper presents results on stress corrosion cracking of two eutectoid steels for prestressing concrete; before and after cold drawing. Tests have been performed on precracked specimens axially loaded (Slow Strain Rate Test). The regimes of environment sensitive fracture were detected. The high potential regime is sensitive to cold drawinf differences. The lower potential regime of cracking is similar for both wires (before and after cold drawing).
